Home Cooking Service Goes Viral: RM50 for a Meal, Over RM10,000 Monthly Income.
A woman’s home cooking service has attracted widespread attention for reportedly generating nearly RMB 20,000 (approximately RM11,900) in monthly income.
Her service 阿绿爱做饭 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, offers a basic package of three dishes and one soup for 88 yuan (approximately RM52), with kitchen cleanup included. A typical workday spans 12 hours and covers around six orders, with each meal taking about an hour to prepare. In some cases, she prepares more than the standard three dishes and one soup. The service caters to individuals who prefer home-cooked meals or face difficulties cooking for themselves, with consistent monthly earnings estimated between RMB 16,000 and 20,000.
The cooking process is regularly filmed and shared on social media, where it garners significant interaction. While many express admiration, some online users have raised doubts—questioning how multiple meals can be cooked in such a short time, how it’s possible to serve clients in different locations daily, and whether similar success could be achieved outside major cities. Travel time between appointments was also cited as a potential issue.
Despite the skepticism, the service continues to gain popularity through social media engagement and video content.
