Borneo International Kite Festival 2025, Sarawak

The 2025 Borneo International Kite Festival in Sarawak is set to welcome participants from 35 countries and regions, with Haiti and Macau making their debut appearances—adding a fresh international flavor to the event.

This highly anticipated festival will take place from September 17 to 21, 2025, at the Old Airport site in Bintulu. Around 150 professional kite flyers are expected to showcase their skills, with the Malaysian contingent alone contributing about 70 participants.

As one of Bintulu’s biggest annual events, the Borneo International Kite Festival not only draws kite flyers and spectators from all over the globe but also shines a spotlight on the breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of Borneo, introducing its charm to a wider international audience.

Countries and regions represented include South Korea, Australia, Austria, Germany, South Africa, Macau, Belgium, Malaysia, Brazil, the Netherlands, Brunei, New Zealand, Oman, Canada, China, Poland, Russia, Estonia, Scotland, France, Singapore, Greece, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, the United States, Haiti, India and Hong Kong.

The festival promises an exciting fusion of cultural creativity, technical prowess, and international exchange, as kite enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds come together to compete and collaborate.
