330 drones lighting up & 12-minute fireworks show in Sarawak.
Rimbunan Hijau Group will mark its 50th anniversary with a major celebration on May 12 at the Tun Tuanku Bujang Square in Sibu.
A highlight of the night will be a dazzling display of 330 drones lighting up the Sibu sky, followed by a specially choreographed 12-minute fireworks show. The group also announced photo and video contests in conjunction with these two performances, with attractive prizes up for grabs.
Rimbunan Hijau Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Grand Festivities in Sibu
The event, themed “Gratitude for 50 Years, Forging the Future”, promises an evening full of surprises, including a spectacular drone and fireworks show.
Founded on May 13, 1975, Rimbunan Hijau’s 50th anniversary celebrations will peak on May 12 and 13. The public, especially those from Sibu and surrounding areas, are warmly invited to attend the celebration on Monday, May 12 at 7 PM at Tun Tuanku Bujang Square.
The night will feature a blend of lights and music, with Malaysia’s renowned singer Shila Amzah performing five classic hits. Other performers include Borneo Rhythm, and Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe show.
More Celebrations on May 13
On Tuesday, May 13 at 10 AM, the group will officially launch a major renovation project for Rimbunan Hijau Tower. The event will be officiated by the Premier of Sarawak.
That evening, a gala dinner will be held at the University of Technology Sarawak hall, with the Premier of Sarawak as the guest of honour. Staff and invited guests from across the globe will gather to commemorate this milestone. Long-serving employees (15 years and above) will also be recognised for their dedication. Shila Amzah will return to the stage to celebrate the occasion with a special performance.
