This edition of the SEA Games adopts a multi-state hosting model, distributing events across four key regions to maximise existing sports facilities and stimulate balanced national development.

① Sarawak — The Pride of East Malaysia (17 Sports)
Sarawak has been given a top-tier role:
✅ Host of the Opening Ceremony
✅ The highest number of sports
Main sports include:
• Aquatics (Swimming & Diving)
• Weightlifting, Basketball, Bowling, Lawn Bowls
• E-Sports, Gymnastics, Golf, Cricket
• Archery, Shooting, Muay Thai, Squash

Kuala Lumpur remains the central pillar of the Games and will host the Closing Ceremony.

• Equestrian, Water Ski

• Cycling (National Velodrome, Nilai)

Penang will focus on technical and indoor events:

Johor has been designated as the exclusive football host:
• All men’s and women’s football matches held in Johor

• Avoids the monsoon season for more stable weather
