Miri Tua Pek Kong 111 Year Anniversary Parade

美里大伯公庙 111周年游神盛会

This Sunday, you can go to Miri to see the grand procession of Tua Pek Kong. The Tua Pek Kong Statue, known as the largest in Southeast Asia, will celebrate its 111th anniversary with a vibrant parade on May 5th.

Teams from Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, Marudi, and other areas will participate, along with contingents from Sabah, Penang, and Brunei, totaling an estimated 200 teams. The Huong Lin Temple opera troupe from Kuching will perform for four days, promoting arts and culture. A chanting group from Singapore will also participate in the prayer and disaster relief ceremony. The procession on May 5th will feature deities such as Fu De Zheng Shen, Guan Yin, Ma Zu, Zhu Sheng Niang, and Di Mu Niang, making it an eagerly anticipated event.

来自古晋、诗巫、民都鲁、马鲁帝等地的队伍也将加入游行,另外沙巴、槟城、汶莱也会派遣代表参与,估计将有200支队伍参与。

古晋的皇麟庙戏班也受邀表演为期四天的大戏,以推广艺术文化。新加坡的诵经团也会参与祈福消灾法会。

5月5日的游神活动中,福德正神、观音菩萨、妈祖娘娘、注生娘娘和地母娘娘都将参与游行,让人十分期待。
